Common Questions

Why hire a landscape designer separate from a design/build firm.

I am here as an advocate for the homeowner.   I have no interest in over selling planting material or designing crazy shaped overly large, patio spaces to make money.  It is likened to having an architecture plan before you begin building a house.  By the time we are done working together, you will know exactly what your property if going to feel like.  The landscaper can then bid for the project from a completed plan, thus giving the homeowner a price based on what they are expecting.   I take pride in working with a wide array of budgets and helping homeowners phase out projects over the years.   No project is too small or too big.

What happens first?

We will begin by walking the property together and talking about your needs and wants concerning your homes exterior.  After doing a site analysis, I will begin to find the best possible solutions for your home.   We will be in partnership together and I will not stop until you have a plan that you love and understand.   Plans typically start around $1800, but may vary from $1,800 to $4,800 for varies size and complexity of properties.  Properties over a half acre begin at $4800 to full acres starting at $7500. Please note while many companies tell you plans are for free, this is just not true.  There is always a designer behind the scenes and those costs may be buried in the complete project bid.   Please see design process to better understand the course of work involved.

What happens after you have a plan in your hand?

I am here throughout the whole process and will be there to see the last shrub going in.   If needed,I manage the construction of the project to insure that the vision on paper becomes a reality with every detail coming to life.
